Rules of the mind.
To create balance in all areas of your life, you must understand how the mind operates and how to get it to work the way you want it to. As you continue to read all our Blogs on Sundays, we will introduce life changing ideas that you will now want to use in your life. You will want to change some of your old programs, and on this first Blog entry I will teach you how the mind works. Let me begin by saying that there are two parts of the mind; your conscious mind which is known as the critical factor , is the part of the mind that is reading this Blog right now to determine if this information that I am giving to you is appropriate for you or not. It decides what is right from wrong, good from bad, what is true or untrue. After the critical factor interprets a message, it will choose what information passes through.
Your subconscious mind, on the other hand, is just a computer. IT IS NON-CRITICAL which means it does not have the ability to make judgment. As you continue to read my Blogs and become my clients you will learn how to set aside your conscious mind and non-critically accept suggestions, your Turning Point will occur.
As a hypnotherapist and a life coach the number one statement people tell me is “I don’t know how to change,” which truth be told is the one thing I am sure you know how to do. If you want to stop smoking don’t buy cigarettes. If you want to lose weight, eat less carbs and healthier foods and exercise more. If you want to make more money, find a better job. So the question isn’t how do I change, it is how do I get my subconscious mind to accept my suggestion?
Rule Num 1: What you expect tends to happen.
What you focus on expands and the thought you think about most tends to happen. Did you ever want to purchase a car and for some reason you started seeing that car everywhere. Maybe more people suddenly decided to buy that car, or your mind began focusing on it which made you notice it is what really happened. Also, your mind will always move in the direction of its most dominant thought which is why Positive Mental Expectancy is crucial.
Rule Num 2: Imagination is more powerful than knowledge.
What Albert Einstein meant by this is what a person believes surpasses reality. It’s true for them and they will operate based on it. If you believed that your spouse was cheating on you, you would treat your spouse differently and if that person wasn’t they probably will now.
Rule num 3: Every thought or emotion has a physical reaction.
This is the number one reason I believe people get sick. People live their life with so much stress that it produces ailments such as stomach ulcers. Have you ever gotten a hug from someone your passionately in love with and felt warm inside. Also, I know when I drive a car and I see a cop out the corner of my eye, my heart begins to beat faster and my adrenaline rises.
On my second Blog entry, I will discuss the last three rules of the mind. This week I want you to monitor your thoughts as you begin to now reframe your programs to take your life to the next level.
